Report from Ricky Scarbrough was water samples are good. Heaters are going, the Surf Club needs to be pumped along with the Gin, with the Surf Club being priority. The new portable generator that runs the sewer stations, needs to have electrical switches converted and tested. Report from Fire Chief Billy Thomen, the new truck is in progress and hopefully will be arriving end of February or early March. The four year election is Billy Thomen is Fire Chief and Greg Shea is Assistant Chief. Report from Code Enforcement Officer, Vince McDermott, is everything is slow in January, however 2016 licenses are due. Under old business Ricky Scarbrough’s contract for 2016 is renewed. A portable generator for the City has been purchased. Under new business a meeting is to be set within the next week for the 2016 Budget. A contractor, from Redgie Jetton Electric, Inc. was present to present options for stationery generators. It was brought up that residents need to be aware of possible mail theft in the area. Also the 2016 Fire Dues are due, the correct mailing address is HLVFD, 174 Highland Dr., Horseshoe Lake, AR 72348. Gary Hayne asked for a chance to be able to bid on garbage pick-up for the Town services. It was recommended that he present a proposal along with D & M Services, who is currently providing services.

The Hughes Town and Country Garden Club turned in twelve pounds of tabs to the Ronald Mc Donald House on January 5th. Last year we had over twenty-one pounds turned in. Anyone saving tabs and would like to donate, can contact any Garden Club member.
