Williams Baptist College has released the names of students on the Dean’s Lists for the 2015 fall semester. The Dean’s List is comprised of those with at least a 3.5 GPA. Bethany Cummins of West Memphis was among those named to the list.

*** Nearly 400 students have been named to the Union University Dean’s List for the fall 2015 semester. The Dean’s List includes full-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average on a four-point scale. Zachary Pankey and Danica Smithwick, both of Marion, were named to the list.

*** Brandy Sudbury of Marion was recently inducted into Harding University’s chapter of Alpha Chi Honor Society this semester. Sudbury, middle level education major, was welcomed into the prestigious society in a ceremony Sunday, Nov. 15. Alpha Chi is a nationally acclaimed honor society designed to commend academic excellence in universities across the nation. Harding’s chapter, called the Arkansas Eta chapter, is for the upper 10 percent of the junior and senior classes from all academic fields. It is also open to graduate students who rank in the top 10 percent of their specific program.

*** More than 1,300 students were included on the Harding University Dean’s List for grades achieved during the fall 2015 semester. Local students named to the list were: Danielle Edmonds of West Memphis, a psychology major; Brianna Ham of Marion, a nursing major; and Philip Warren of Marion, an accounting major. The dean’s list honors those carrying 12 or more hours with a 3.65 or higher grade-point average and no incompletes.

*** Kayla Hallmark of Marion was honored at the recent annual White Coat Ceremony for Samford University’s Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing. The traditional ceremony recognizes Bachelor of Science in Nursing students who began clinical courses this year. White Coat Ceremonies have long been an important rite of passage at medical schools. In 2014, Samford was selected as one of only 100 nursing schools in 43 states selected by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing to pilot White Coat Ceremonies for nursing students.

*** Henderson State University has announced the students listed on the Honor Roll for the Fall 2016 semester. To make the Honor Roll, a student must have received at least a 3.5 grade point average for the semester. Brandon O. Curtis, an honor undergraduate from West Memphis, was named to the list.

*** Bryce Mitchell, of Turrell, has received the Regents’ Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2016-2017 academic year. Mitchell is the son of Tammy Mitchell of Turrell, and will be a 2016 graduate of Marion High School.

*** Keron Tucker of Marion was among the list of distinguished Northwest Mississippi Community College students to be recognized for making the President’s List for their academic work during the Fall 2015 semester. Those students completing 12 or more semester hours with a grade point average of 3.75 or better in a four-point system are on the President’s List.

*** Over 300 students graduated from Union University Dec.12 during fall commencement services of the 191st graduating class at Oman Arena. Among those receiving degrees was Patrick Webb, of Marion, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, with an emphasis in Organizational Management.

*** Arkansas Tech University has announced its Dean’s List for undergraduate students on the main campus in Russellville for the fall 2015 semester. A student must achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher and complete at least 12 hours of college-level coursework to be named to the Dean’s List. Kayla Nicole Fisher, of West Memphis was among those receving recognition.
