Douglass Bennett Britton, 72, of West Memphis, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 at his home. He was a truck driver. Services Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church. Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Preceding him in death were two sisters, Nannie J. Goss and Barbara Goe. He leaves his wife Denise Britton of West Memphis; a daughter, Kelly Moore of Crawfordsville; two sons Bobby Britton and Le Britton of West Memphis; two stepsons, Don Hickman of Marion and David Hickman of Texas; four brothers, Sam Britton (Gloria) and Gregg Britton (Lori) of West Memphis, Donald Britton (Carol) of Marion and Larry Britton (Linda) of Dallas, Texas; and eight grandchildren.

Julia Mae Marshall, 84, of Little Rock, formerly of Hughes, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, in her home. Visitation Saturday, Jan. 2, from 10 to 11 a.m. in Bright Star M. B. Church at Anthonyville. Hicks and Virginia Willis of Detroit, Michigan, Dorothy Doss and Devon Lasker of Little Rock and Loretta Green of Pine Bluff; five sons, Bennie Doss, Jr., Royal L. Doss and Larry L. Johnson, Sr. of Alexander, Arkansas, James l. Marshal, Jr. of Marion and Odell Marshall of Little; one sister, Earlie Mae Starling of Chicago, Illinois; 42 grandchildren; 97 great grandchildren and 53 great-great grandchildren.
Emma Michael, 73, of Hughes, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Forrest City Medical Center. Visitation Saturday, Jan. 2, from 11 a.m. to noon in New Bethel Church of God in Christ at Hughes. Simmons and Jeanie Jordan of Hughes, Christine Davis of Houston, Texas and Alma Wilburn of Belleville, Illinois; three brothers, Lee Amos Jordan and Billy Jordan of Broadview, Illinois and Rev. Johnny Simmons of Maywood, Illinois; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Hickory Flat – Albert Vernon Mills, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, after an extended illness. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a captain of the West Memphis Fire Department after 20 years of service. He later retired again from Benchcraft manufacturing with 15 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Hickory Flat. He was married to Sandy Ryals Mills. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to working hard and loving his family. Visitation was Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at United Funeral Home in New Albany. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at Ebenezer Methodist Church in Hickory Flat with Bro. Eugene Stockstill officiating. Body will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery. United Funeral Services are in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sandy Ryals Mills, two daughters, Ellen Shumaker and Janet Flake (Ronald) of Ecru; one son, Robert Mills of Hickory Flat; two brothers, Talmadge Mills and Clinton Mills of Hickory Flat; one sister-in-law, Betty Mills of Jonesboro, Arkansas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Allison Shumaker Richardson (Robbie), Michael Shumaker (Lakin), Kelli Shumaker Leifheit(Taylor), Anna Claire Flake White (Nathan), Ethan Flake, Whit Flake, Collin Mills, Cavin Mills and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Carrie Whiteside Mills of Hickory Flat; three brothers, George Marion Mills, Ellis Mills and Frank Mills; one sister, Elizabeth Mills Sebastian; one brother-in-law, Adrian Sebastian; two sisters-in-law, Marie Mills and Pauline Mills. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. In honor of Mr. Mills, United Funeral Service will fly the U.S. Air Force and Fire Fighters flag at the funeral home during visitation and service. Tevin Quiney, 24, of West Helena, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at Helena Hospital. He was a student. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at P L and M Center with burial in Morning Star Cemetery in Elaine. He leaves his father, Joel Quiney of Elaine; his mother, Bertha Quiney of West Helena; six sisters, Retriya Sanders of Little Rock, Lindsey Quiney of Elaine, Wendy Quiney of West Helena, Shlindrea Quiney, Aletha Quiney and Lashanti Quiney all of Campti, Louisiana; two brothers, Rejonski Grayson and Joel Quiney Jr. of Little Rock; his grand parents, Willie Quiney and William Quiney and Sarah Bobo.
