Bulldogs to face Class 6A power El Dorado today

Earle won its opener at the Lendel Thomas Tournament in Harrison by topping Class 3A power Little Rock Episocopal, 76-66. The Bulldogs moved to 13-1 after blowing open a 32-32 halftime score by dominating the second half by 10 points. Earle will play Class 6A El Dorado today in the semifinal round of the tournament with the winner advancing to play for the title. Senior guard Marcus Brown led Earle with 26 points, while also tallying 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Dontrell Johnson hit for a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, B.J. Murray added 9 points and Cortez Banks scored 7. Earle connected on 49% of their shots from the field, while Episcopal hit 43%. The Bulldogs lost the turnover battle 17-15. Earle won its 13th consecutive game after dropping its season opener in Wynne. El Dorado nabbed a forfeit victory in the opening round of the tournament after Covington, Tennessee broke their contract and did not appear in the tournament. The Earle-El Dorado clash will tip at 6:15 PM.
