Student singers to present ‘Voices of Christmas’

Annual Academies of West Memphis holiday concert next week

The Academies of West Memphis will present “The Voices of Christmas” Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights next week (Dec. 14-15, 17) at 7 p.m. at the school’s Performing Arts Center. Admission is $5. Tickets are available at the door for Monday and Thursday evenings. However, Tuesday night’s performance is already sold out. AWM choral director Doug Conwill promises that once again his choir’s production will be special. “Our light shows are bigger and better than ever,” he said. “Our community will really enjoy this production.” The AWM ladies ensemble, show choir and Southern Exposure will present a nativity scene followed by Santas, elves, Frosty the Snowman and the outstanding light shows. Monday night’s performance also includes the choirs from Bragg and Weaver elementary as well as Wonder Junior High. Tuesday’s performance includes the choirs from Richland and Wonder elementary as well as West Junior High. Thursday’s performance will include the choirs from Faulk, Maddux and L.R. Jackson elementary as well as East Junior High.
