Kim Wicks of West Memphis presented a vocal concert at the Earle Music Coterie meeting held at the Earle Baptist Church Nov. 19. It was the annual Parade of American Music program. She sang the National Anthem, a patriotic medley “For Those Tears, I died,” “When Thou Passeth Through the Water, I Will Be With Thee,” taken from the book of Isaiah, “Walk With Me” accompanied by a recording of her playing the flute and “The Lord’s Prayer” accompanied by herself on the piano. Kim was introduced by Larry Miller. Christine Littlejohn was in charge of the program. Rev. Tony Wells, president, presided and led the reading of the club collect. Rev. Stacie Grubbs read the poem “I Thank Thee.” Mary Jo Staggs gave the story of the song “Grandfather’s Clock” led by Janis Lancaster and accompanied by Jane Speed. “The Yellow Rose of Texas” was sung at the close of the meeting. Jimmie Barham and Sue Ann Elms were co-hosts. They served cake, mints and cokes for refreshments. Other members present were Donna Hooker, Dot McKinney and Frankie Swindle. Guests included Jean Allensworth, Tammy and Larry Dunn, Allison Bird, Brennan Bird, Becky Miller, Eric Elms and Jamayia Allen.
*** The Women’s Ministry of the First Assembly of God Church met at the Fellowship Hall Nov. 3 where they enjoyed a potluck dinner and a time of fellowship before putting together the Christmas Operation Child Samaritan’s Purse. The boxes contain useful items and toys to be sent to children in other countries. They assembled a total of 34 boxes and expect to prepare more. Included were Laurie Adams, Sue Young, Amanda Young, Michelle McCormick, Linda Jo Branch, Terre Rodgers, Debbie Love, Tabitha Newingham, Delores Smith, Tammy Soto, Lauren Richards, Tracey Buford, Crystal Holloway, Ashley Cox, Terry Nieswonger, Susie Soto and Nicole Peer.
*** Krista and Jordan Adams are the parents of their second son born Nov. 15 at Methodist Germantown Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds and 14 ounces and was 20 inches long. His name is Grayson Jude. Welcoming him home is 18 month old Caleb. Grandparents are Sandy and Roy Wood of Marion and Laurie and Rev. Clayton Adams of Earle.
*** Christmas open house will be held at the Crittenden County Museum Dec. 6 from 2 until 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served by the Red Hat Society and the Museum board members. Members of the Earle Music Coterie and community singers will sing Christmas Carols.
