Armstrong goes off in victory

The Greyhounds of Arkansas State University Mid-South picked up a key road win over the weekend at St. Louis Community College. The Greyhounds trailed 34-33 at halftime, but dominated the second half to win a 74-67 contest. ASU Mid-South shot 68 percent for the game, including a 60 percent mark in the second half. The Greyhounds won the rebounding battle 36-22. Tyler Armstrong had the big game for ASU Mid-South, hitting for 31 points on 12 of 16 shooting, including a hot 6 of 8 mark from three-point range. He added in a pair of steals, 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Forrest City native Trent Steen added in 11 points and 8 rebounds as ASU Mid-South’s only other double-digit scorer. Cameron Ricks and Joe’Randle Toliver hit for 7 apiece while Jerell Bernard and Ladarius Mason each went for 6. Tevin Brown scored 4 points and Teverette Cain added 2 of his own. ASU Mid-South is back at home on Saturday, December 5.
